SALENTO!

In the last summer vacation I was staying in Armenia, at my grandparents'. One afternoon my sister, my aunts, some of my cousins and I were bored, so we decided to travel to a funnier place, Salento. We went by car because Salento is approximately nine kilometers from Armenia. When we arrived, the first thing we did was to stop at a restaurant that sells "Merengón". It is a cake with strawberries, cookie, and cream that everybody should try, it is delicious.

One of the activities that can be done in Salento is buying crafts in a long street fulled of shops where villagers sell handmade things, necklaces and bracelets made by silver, lamps and curious things made by wood. There are also many stores with craft clothing; sellers of these stores are usually hippies. I remember that my sister and i bought a ring in one of those hippie's shops. The sellers told us that this ring could change its color according with the emotions. It didn't work because it only changes if we put it in the fridge.

After shopping, my family and I went to the viewpoint of Salento. Consequently we had to climb approximately 200 stairs. It's a good way to do exercise. When we arrived to the top, we could see the whole town. There we found the other side of the viewpoint, a beautiful place to admire nature.

Then we went tired and hungry down stairs, and we decided going to eat to a restaurant that  is located at the beginning of the stairs. It looked like an ordinary house, but when we got in,it surprised us . It is a spectacular place! Tables and chairs are tree trunks and the plants cover all the walls, some of them have view to the mountains. there we ate "Patacón con Todo", the typical dish of Salento. it is a big crushed  plantain  oval shaped that has several ingredient: "hogao", shredded meat, chiken, cheese and others. Eating was the best part of the day.
